This policy explains how El Ougl Software SARL (“OuglSoft”, “we”) handles data when you use Al-Moathen El-Chinguitti.

1. Summary

• The app requires no account or sign-in.
• The app contains no advertising or in-app usage analytics SDK.
• Settings, alerts, imported sounds, and cached prayer times are stored locally.
• Location is optional; country and city can be selected manually.
• During online prayer-time updates, required coordinates and calculation choices are sent to the AlAdhan service.

2. Data handled by the app

Location and city

If you grant location permission, the app requests a recent location to identify the nearest listed city, calculate Qibla direction, and use time-zone and elevation details when available. Android may use its geocoding provider to turn coordinates into a country or city name. Manual city selection remains available if permission is denied.

Prayer-time and display settings

The app stores the selected city or coordinates, calculation method, Asr method, high-latitude method, time corrections, Hijri-date correction, language, font, text size, numeral style, light or dark mode, and default calendar locally.

Alerts and audio

The app stores alert modes, selected sounds, randomized daily reminder plans, and custom reminder schedules locally. When you select an audio file from your phone, the app copies that file into its private storage for playback; it does not upload the file to OuglSoft.

Sensors

The Qibla compass uses on-device rotation, accelerometer, and magnetic-field sensor data. These readings are processed during use and are not sent to OuglSoft.

Support communications

If you email us, we process the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send so that we can respond and provide support.

3. Network processing and third parties

When online updates are used, the app connects to api.aladhan.com to request a monthly timetable. The request includes latitude, longitude, year, month, calculation method, Asr school, and high-latitude setting. Processing by that service is governed by its operator’s policy.

Android may use the geocoding provider available on the device when resolving a city name. Privacy and terms links open in an external browser. The app includes no advertising or in-app analytics service.

Visiting the OuglSoft website is separate from using the app and may create hosting logs and website traffic measurements under the site’s own configuration and policies.

4. Android permissions and purposes

• Internet: online timetable updates and external links.
• Approximate and precise location: optional nearest-city and Qibla features.
• Notifications: prayer and reminder notifications.
• Exact alarms: attempts to deliver alerts at scheduled times.
• Vibration: the selected vibration alert mode.
• Boot, time, and time-zone events: alert rescheduling.
• Foreground media service: adhan or audio playback with a visible notification.

5. Storage and retention

Functional data remains in the app’s private storage until you change it, clear app data, or uninstall the app. The app declares Android backup disabled. We operate no account or synchronization server capable of restoring this local data.

6. What the app does not do

• It does not create a user profile or require an account.
• It does not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.
• It does not request camera, microphone, contacts, or messaging access.
• It does not upload user-selected audio files to OuglSoft.
• It does not track location in the background.

7. Your choices

You can deny location and select a city manually; disable notifications, exact alarms, or vibration; delete custom sounds and reminders; restore settings; or clear app data and uninstall the app. A feature tied to a disabled permission may no longer work.

8. Security and children

We use HTTPS for the external timetable request and private app storage for local data, but no digital system can be guaranteed completely secure. The app is general-purpose and is not designed to collect children’s data; a parent or guardian should review location and notification permissions when a child uses it.

9. International processing

AlAdhan, the device geocoding provider, or an email provider may process technical data in other countries. This depends on the relevant operator and device configuration and is governed by those third parties’ terms.

10. Policy changes

We may update this policy if the app, services, or legal requirements change. The revised text and date will be published on this page.
