Terms of Use for Safe-to-Spend

These Terms govern the use of Safe-to-Spend. By installing, accessing, or using the app, the user agrees to these Terms. If the user does not agree, the user must not use the app.

Effective date: 4 July 2026

1. App purpose

Safe-to-Spend is a personal finance app for recording accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, exclusions, backups, and deleted items, and for reviewing monthly spending goals, safety margin, spending rate, smart forecast, comparison with the previous month, comparison with the available last 12 months, budget impact, and user-selected analysis.

2. Personal use

The app is provided for personal, non-commercial use. It is not a banking service, payment service, investment product, accounting system, tax service, legal service, or business management platform.

The app may not be used to provide financial, accounting, administrative, consulting, or data-management services to any third party without OuglSoft’s prior written permission.

3. License

OuglSoft grants the user a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the app for personal purposes in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.

No ownership, intellectual property right, source code right, commercial right, or redistribution right is transferred to the user.

4. Intellectual property

The app, including its name, design, interface, text, graphics, icons, structure, calculations, source code, compiled code, documentation, and other materials, is owned by OuglSoft or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

5. Prohibited conduct

The user must not copy, publish, sell, rent, sublicense, redistribute, modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, extract source code from, remove notices from, or create derivative works based on the app, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.

The user must not use the app unlawfully, interfere with its operation, bypass protection mechanisms, impersonate others, or use the app in a way that infringes OuglSoft’s rights or the rights of any third party.

6. User data and accuracy

The user is responsible for the accuracy, completeness, classification, backup, export, import, deletion, and interpretation of data entered into or generated by the app.

Reports, goals, forecasts, comparisons, safety margins, monthly series, budget impact, and analysis results depend on the data entered by the user and may be inaccurate if the data is incomplete, incorrect, duplicated, excluded, deleted, or imported incorrectly.

7. No financial, tax, or legal advice

The app provides organization, calculation, comparison, and visualization tools. It does not provide financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, accounting advice, legal advice, or a recommendation to make or avoid any transaction.

The user remains solely responsible for financial decisions and should independently review any information before relying on it.

8. Forecasts and benchmarks

Smart forecasts, spending rates, monthly goals, safety margins, previous-month comparisons, available last-12-month comparisons, budget impact, and category effects are estimates or calculations based on available app data.

These outputs are informational tools only and are not guarantees of future spending, savings, financial results, or budget compliance.

9. Excluded categories

Excluded categories are a user-controlled feature intended to keep exceptional or non-comparable expenses out of certain monthly benchmark calculations. The user is responsible for selecting exclusions appropriately and reviewing their effect on reports and results.

10. Default sample data

The app may include sample accounts, categories, transactions, budgets, and monthly records for demonstration purposes. The user may delete sample data through the app where that function is available. Sample data is not financial advice and must not be treated as the user’s real financial record.

11. Backups, exports, imports, and deletion

The user is responsible for creating, storing, protecting, restoring, and deleting backups and exported files. Imported data may overwrite, duplicate, or alter app records depending on the file and import process.

The user should review imported or restored data before relying on it. OuglSoft is not responsible for loss, exposure, corruption, deletion, or misuse of files exported from or imported into the app by the user.

12. App lock and device security

A passcode or app-lock function, when available, is a local access-control feature. It does not guarantee absolute protection and does not replace device-level security, encryption, operating-system updates, or responsible file handling.

13. Updates and changes

OuglSoft may update, modify, suspend, remove, or discontinue any part of the app, including calculations, screens, sample data, import/export functions, backup functions, and user interface elements. Continued use after an update means continued acceptance of the updated app and applicable Terms.

14. Third-party platforms and services

If the app is downloaded from an app store or used with an operating system, device feature, storage service, file manager, browser, or sharing service, the user’s use of those third-party platforms and services is subject to their own terms and policies.

15. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, compatibility, or availability.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OuglSoft is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for loss of data, loss of files, incorrect entries, incorrect calculations, financial decisions, device issues, unauthorized access, misuse of exported files, failed imports, failed backups, or reliance on app outputs.

17. Termination

The user’s license may terminate automatically if the user violates these Terms. Upon termination, the user must stop using the app and delete unauthorized copies or materials.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at OuglSoft’s place of establishment, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in the user’s place of residence require otherwise.

19. Changes to these Terms

OuglSoft may update these Terms when needed. The updated Terms apply from the date they are published in the official location designated for the app.
